JKA South Bassonia students excel at the SAJKA National Championships

The team was also awarded SA JKA National Colours for excellence.

SEVERAL members of JKA South Bassonia represented SAJKA Gauteng at the SAJKA National Championships, which had more than 3500 entries, making it one of the largest tournaments in the world.

The championships were held at the end of May while the JKA Africa Cup will be held on September 1.

Graeme Bennett (third Kyu), Leon de Villiers (fourth Dan), Steve Elliott (second Dan), Brittany Shepstone (second Dan), Dylyn Shepstone (first Dan), Bruce Smith (seventh Dan) and Karyn Smith (fifth Dan) were selected to represent SAJKA at the JKA Africa Cup.

The team was also awarded SA JKA National Colours for excellence.

Karate classes are held Monday to Thursday with special Dinky Warrior classes for the little ones.
