Cobras Shotokan karate club returned home with a total of 14 medals

Cobras Shotokan rake in medals.

THE Cobras Shotokan karate club form Alberton recently took part in the All Styles kata challenge held on March 17 in Pretoria.

The club did exceptionally well and returned home with a total of 14 medals; five gold, seven silver and two bronze medals, won by the 18 students who took part.

Karateka brought back the following medals: Bokang Sigasa – silver, Nathan De Beer – silver, Liana Gouveia – bronze, Miecke Beisheim – silver, Sensei Nicholas Gaston-Bellegarde – gold, Zita Gouveia – silver, Andrea Tiedt – gold, Laurent Gaston-Bellegarde – gold, Bokamoso Makene – silver, Kieran Fish – bronze, Reatlegile Moleleki – silver, Daniel van Wyk – silver, Tiana Figueiredo – gold and Darshal Chinia – gold. Both Sensei Laurent and Nicholas Gaston-Bellegarde are very proud of the club’s achievements.

The Cobras Shotokan karate club train at Glenview Primary School in Brackenhurst on Monday and Wednesday evenings 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
