It was two days filled with good vibes, laughter and true sportsmanship.

THE Zambia Independent Schools Association (ISAZ) u-13 hockey teams visited Waterstone College for a friendly tournament against several Gauteng Schools teams recently.

Waterstone College proudly hosted a u-13 boys and girls hockey tournament on August 4 and 5.

Local schools involved included Laerskool Randhart, Alberview Primary, Laerskool Generaal Alberts Primary, Laerskool President Steyn and of course Waterstone College.

THE OFFICIALS: Luline Bothma (photographer), Melissa Fourie and Vicky Olivier (referees from Hoërskool Dinamika), Hannalie Breytenbach (organiser), Mr (back) and Mrs Beytel (First Aid) and Mari Kruger (technical table).

All the matches were played on the Waterstone Astro field as family and friends cheered and supported the young teams. The tournament was arranged by Hannalie Breytenbach, with the purpose of creating exposure for the young enthusiastic players. It was two days filled with good vibes, laughter and true sportsmanship.

With hard work, determination and a passion for the sport, Hannalie, along with the help of Pieter Rademan from Waterstone College, achieved the success of a beautifully put together hockey event. “The positive feedback received from this friendly tournament will result in an annual international competition. A big thank you to the Zambian teams, all the players, coaches, referees, parents, medics, organizers, sponsors and a special thank you to our hosts, Waterstone College,” says Hannalie.
