ENJOY a 50-minute meander from Joburg to the Vaal and treat yourself to a wine festival with a difference.
The itinerary allows you to hop on and off luxury cruisers or to enjoy wine tasting on land – right on the banks of the Vaal River.
Luxury cruisers depart from the Stonehaven Harbour every half an hour, for 45-minute cruises.
Hop on and off to your heart’s content from 12 noon to 8pm.
The Vaal River Wine Festival takes place on Saturday, June 24, at Stonehaven on Vaal, next to Baddrift Bridge, Vaal River, Vanderbijlpark.
Tickets cost R100 per adult for access to wine tasting both aboard the luxury cruisers and on land, a choice of 200 top SA wines and wine-tasting glass. Under 18’s are free and there’s lots of complimentary entertainment for children.
The fun selection of optional meals include a farm cheese stall, country home-made breads and Provençal breads and biscuits served with pates and dips, hot meals perfect for wine pairing and ideal chocolates to match with wine, as well as petite desserts to heighten the wine pleasure.
There will be a tea garden with delicious cakes, as well as brewed coffees and fun coffees, including those enhanced with De Krans Port. Wine ice cream and sorbet and assorted light meals and meals suitable for children will be available too.
BEAUTIFULLY SET: Enjoy delicious food and wine next to the Vaal River.
In addition there will be à la carte dining options in a cosy pub with roaring fireplaces, wine cellar or restaurant, with extensive menus from burgers to seafood and a children’s menu too.
Side entertainment includes live music, photo booths, stalls of interest and children’s entertainment.
