SOUTH Africa’s most exciting junior chess talent will battle it out for top honours at the 2017 South African Junior Closed Chess Championship (SAJCCC).
The invitation-only tournament pits the best young players in their age and gender categories against each other.
It will take place at the Kopanong Hotel and Conference Centre in Benoni from April 5 to 11.
An annual Chess SA event, the SAJCCC grants hundreds of qualifying junior chess players the opportunity to prove their worth and earn a spot in the team that represents South Africa at international and continental chess events. Players participate in age groups ranging from u.8 to u.20 years.
