You’d be a fool not to be at Turffontein on April 1

SA Classic day will include a Country Garden at Turffontein Racecourse.

AFTER the excitement of the first leg of the Triple Crown, Turffontein is gearing up for the second leg, hosting The Country Garden on Classic Day.

The horse racing fraternity will gather on Saturday, April 1, to enjoy a day at the track, the highlight being the second leg of the Triple Crown and the second Triple Tiara.

The SA Classic, run over 1 800m, is the second leg of the Triple Crown and the Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Classic, also run on the day, forms the second part of the Triple Tiara and sees Smiling Blue Eyes attempt to follow on from her success in the Gauteng Guineas Grade 2, earlier this month.

The Johannesburg Youth Orchestra will entertain the spectators in the Country Garden area as the afternoon unfolds.

And for the food lovers, popular Johannesburg restaurateur and award-winning chef Thomas Hughes will be on hand to satisfy hungers.

Hughes has added his personal touch to the menu and his food promises to go down a treat.

Tickets to The Country Garden are R50 and include general access to the precinct as well as a voucher upon entry, while u.18s pay just R20 – and there will be enough outdoor entertainment to keep them busy throughout the day.

There will also be a buffet offering inside the building with hospitality packages starting at R295 per person. Tables can be booked by calling 011 681 1796 or visit www.itsarush.co.za.

General access tickets for the day are R30 and also include a voucher.

There will also be up to R50 000 worth of cash prizes on offer, including a grand prize giveaway of R20 000. There will also be cash up for grabs in a ‘money shower’ as well as four R5 000 vouchers. Entry forms for the various draws will be available at the gate on the day

Tickets for Classic Day and the Country Garden are available at https://bit.ly/ClassicDay2017, from Pick n Pay stores and at the gate on the day.
