Titans unveils sponsors for T20 Challenge

The new CSA T20 Challenge will commence this weekend.

The Titans have unveiled Multiply as their new sponsor for the upcoming Cricket South Africa T20 Challenge, with the brand already on board for the four-day and one day formats.

“We are thrilled to have Multiply on board as team sponsor for all three formats. Our recent track record reveals that we have been champions on and off the field. We won four trophies over the past three seasons (one shared), completed the domestic double last season and claimed the CSA Incentive Scorecard – as leading franchise in the country,” said Jacques Faul, Chief Executive Officer of the Multiply Titans.

The T20 Challenge gets underway with a double-header played at the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium this coming Saturday, November 12. The Multiply Titans will take on hosting franchise the bizhub Highveld Lions. The Titans will be starting their defence of the title which they won in the 2015/2016 season.

In the 2015/2016-season, the Multiply Titans under the astute leadership of Albie Morkel, won the Ram Slam T20 Challenge in emphatic style: by coasting to a seven-wicket win in the 2015/2016 final. During the group-phase, the team won seven consecutive matches.

“We always start our competition slowly, but eventually we were victorious in our T20 campaign,” said Morkel, “This season we have a few players coming in for our international players who are not available to play at this stage, but the newly selected players fit in very well with the rest of the team. It is just a question of finding the correct balance in T20.”

A group of decorated international players contributed to their dominance against all-comers last season. Quinton de Kock struck 437 runs, Morkel hammered 198 runs and captured ten wickets; while both Chris Morris and David Wiese produced match-winning performances.
