Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) will reach the end of the 2016 cross-country season when they host the provincial championship this Saturday, August 13, at the Boksburg Stadium.
The event will start at 08:30.
The provincial championships will be the deciding factor for the team CGA will be sending down to George for the SA Cross Country Championships next month. With cross-country being the biggest contributor to athletics development programmes with athletes as young as eight years old, CGA will be looking forward to sending a reasonable strong team to nationals this year.
Athletes who have participated in at least four leagues this season and make it into the top six in their respective events at the provincial championships will automatically make the CGA team. However, this will also be advised by their performance throughout the season.
