Diana Phalula emerged victorious at the 2015 edition of the popular Diepkloof Half Marathon.

DEROCIBUS Makhobale and Diana-Lebo Phalula emerged victorious at the 2015 edition of the Diepkloof Half Marathon held at the University of Johannesburg Soweto Campus on Sunday, October 25.

Featuring a star-studded field and ideal overcast conditions for running, the Diepkloof Half Marathon, 21km and 10km runs kicked off at 06:00.

Makhobale triumphed with a time of 1:09:25, while Diana-Lebo Phalula clocked a time of 1:18:14 on the challenging but popular route.

Stephen Mokona won the men’s 10 km run with Lebogang Phalula completing a clean sweep for the Phalula family by taking the women’s 10km run title.

The Diepkloof Half Marathon now falls under the Metropolitan Mojo Series banner and this year’s race formed part of the broader 21 year anniversary celebrations of the organisers, the Diepkloof Athletics Club.

The Metropolitan Mojo Series is a partnership between Metropolitan and the communities in which they work to promote the physical and financial well-being of these communities.

The third race in the Metropolitan Mojo Series, the Metropolitan Run, will take place on December 2 in Cape Town.
