Ke Yona team drafted into PSL clubs

16 Ke Yona players have been afforded an opportunity to try out at PSL clubs for a month.

SIXTEEN Nedbank Ke Yona players have been afforded an opportunity to try out at PSL clubs for a month.

This announcement was made after the thrilling Sunday, September 6, encounter, at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, between the Nedbank Ke Yona team and the 2015 Nedbank Cup Champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.

The accomplishments achieved over the past three years through this football development initiative have been remarkable with a number of players signing with PSL and national first division clubs.

“Through this beneficial partnership with the PSL we hope to see the number of Ke Yona players who participate in topflight football increase drastically. During the Ke Yona trials, we travelled the country and learnt about the great pool of talent that South Africa has to offer,” said Nedbank’s divisional executive for group marketing, Sydney Nhlanhla Mbhele.

“Nedbank has really taken its football development initiative up a notch and we are honoured to be part of a competition that contributes to the nation’s football development. We are confident that our boys will shine in all of the clubs they have been assigned to,” said Mbhele.

Bonginkosi Shangase was drafted into the Orlando Pirates team, Dean Jones to Kaizer Chiefs and Jarred Meyer will have a chance to prove himself at Jomo Cosmos FC.
