Dikwena confirms new signings

New signings for Platinum Stars.

Ahead of the 2015/16 season which starts this weekend, August 8 and 9, Platinum Stars FC can now confirm their new signings.

Dikwena embarked on the pre-season preparation from June 23, where the team spent most of its time at its Bafokeng Sports Campus.

The first week comprised of full medical screenings and tests which were handled at the Kgosi Leruo High Performance Centre and, to date, the team has played a number of preparatory matches, including the participation in the Bokone Bophirima Maize Triangle Challenge in which Dikwena were crowed the inaugural winners of the tournament.

Over the last weekend, Dikwena took part in the Mbombela Football Spectacular and finished as runners up after losing to the Mpumalanga Black Aces on penalties by 4 spot-kicks to 1.

“Our preparations have been going well and we are confident that we have a team that will compete in the coming season. I am happy and grateful for the support that the management has shown to me and the entire team in the past few months that I have been a part of this wonderful family. This season, success belongs to those that want it and we will showcase nothing but good football that will leave the hearts wanting more. Let the season resumes and South African football brace itself for sparks of encouragement” said Cavin Johnson.

The following are the new additions to the family: Sibusiso Gumede (the center back from Bidvest Wits), Siyabonga Zulu (a left back from Orlando Pirates, who was on loan at Chippa United). The Senegalese international goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul is now a permanent member of the Dikwena family and fans will also see Mbongeni Mzimela, who will assist in the goal keeping department, coming from Chippa United. Khulekani Madondo comes from Amazulu FC and plays the center midfield role for the North West side. All the above are permanent transfers and the club is delighted to have them joining the family.

Robin Ngalande (Bidvest Wits) and Bonginkosi Ntuli (Mamelodi Sundowns) are on a loan deal, with Kobamelo Kodisang, Charles Baloyi and Cyril Chibwe from Platinum Stars FC. Development receiving their promotions to the senior team for the new season coming. Chibwe was on a loan spell in United FC and now returned back home to commence with the senior team.
