KFC Mini-Cricket Kids get active

KFC Mini-Cricket Kids get active, action at Wanderers.

KFC Mini-Cricket Kids lost to the Proteas with a run short in their curtain-raiser to the KFC T20 international between the Proteas and West Indies. The match was played to great excitement of winning school Louw Geldenhuys vs a selected Proteas team which consisted of some of the men’s and women’s international players.

The match took place on January 11 at Bidvest Wanderers.

The Proteas team was chosen as more of a batting team, since that is what was lacking in the first game in Cape Town. JP Duminy, Reeza Hendricks, Wayne Parnell, Mignon du Preez, Sune Luus and Andrie Steyn are all fantastic batters, while Kagiso Rabada and Yolani Steyn are known more for their bowling.

The Proteas put on a great display by hitting 70 runs in their eight overs, with all the batters chipping in, Mignon du Preez top scoring with twelve.

The KFC Mini-Cricket kids were in the game until the last ball, but they eventually fell one run short. The Proteas were a far more polished team in the field, even though Francois Steyn tried as hard as he could to knock off the runs with a well played 13. Lincoln Engelbrecht was the man of the match due to a fantastic bowling performance.
