Bourbon Beer and Burger Festival at the races

It’s a great occasion in every way, a great race and race meeting, to bet on. Charity wins big – so can you!

BOURBON Beer and Burger festival at the Emperors Palace Charity Mile combines the best that Joburg has to offer with all the excitement of a day at the races. The festival has gathered, from among the best markets in Johannesburg, exquisite craft beer sellers and mouth-watering gourmet pop-up food stalls, and included them as part of this year’s special Emperors Palace Charity Mile offering.

For those who want to experience an elegantly different day at the races, the festival is the place to be. It all happens in an open, grassy area located right next to the race track and parade ring, which is reserved exclusively for festival guests. A retro-rustic country atmosphere, complete with hay bales and long tables, provides a relaxing and fun environment to sample new flavours, while enjoying great company.

This fun day at the races takes place on November 1 at Turffontein. There are various hospitality packages available and more information can be found by visiting www.tripleb.co.za. Tickets can be purchased on line at www.webtickets.co.za

Phumelela’s Charity Mile, sponsored by Peermont and Emperors Palace since 2009, is a glorious event that brings together top racehorses and famous people in aid of charity.

The race is the highlight of a blockbuster race meeting at Turffontein on the first Saturday in November annually, a unique and exciting way for horseracing to help people and animals less fortunate than ourselves. The Charity Mile is a normal race in every sense. What’s special is that each runner also races on behalf of a charity and its finishing position determines how much the charity wins. To add glitz and glamour, each runner is publicly represented by a celebrity. A total of R550 000 is given away to the 16 participating charities.
