Kaizer Motuang jnr retires

Kaizer Motuang jnr retires.

Kaizer Motuang retired formally from soccer and from his beloved club, Kaizer Chiefs.

The announcement came on Monday February 3 at a press conference.

“My 90 minutes on the pitch has come to its end, but my kick-off into life after football has been signalled,” said Motuang.

“After much soul-searching and close discussions with my Family, I have decided to focus my energy into furthering my education by completing my degree, which I have been doing on a part-time basis as a Kaizer Chiefs player.

“As of January 2014 I have been and will continue to embark on an internship here at Kaizer Chiefs, with time spent in all facets of this great organisation, in the various departments, to learn as much as I can to be able to add value to this club’s great legacy.

“As they say, ‘To whom much is given, much is required’. Unlike any other player, the surname on the back of my jersey has meant that I would always have to ‘work twice as hard for half the chance’.

“Kaizer Chiefs is more than a soccer team. It is an institution, a culture, a way of life, a family of millions. As players here, we stand on the shoulders of giants. It has been an honour and a blessing to have donned the famous gold and black.”
