Lack of service delivery in the City of Joburg

Service delivery is at its worst under the current administration.

As a resident in the City of Joburg or “The World Class African City” as some would like to coin it. It is sad to say the level of service delivery across the city under this current administration has hit what one would say is the doldrums, yet residents are forced to pay exorbitant tariffs for no service delivery.

One would just need to look at some of our streets in the City of Joburg, where one day one might have to hire a gondola to get from one place to another due to all of the burst pipes and/or water leaks that just aren’t being attended to by Joburg Water.

Then there comes City Power, which can’t seem to stick to its mandate and provide the residents with power in their stipulated turnaround times.

When one is faced with an issue, one has to wait days on end before one is restored, never mind about one’s food that one needs to throw away due to the fridges and/or deep freezers that defrost much faster in the summer months.

As for JRA and for the holes left behind by Joburg Water (when they repair), one would be able to play a game of putt-putt as JRA can’t seem to fill a pothole, and Joburg Water can’t seem to backfill and reinstate.

Yes. The DA-led administration might not have been perfect, but they were slowly starting to turn the city around into the shining crowned jewel it once was.
