Our heartfelt thanks to Ward councillor, Sarah Wissler

Clr Wissler is a true example of a leader with a heart of a servant.

It is not often we have encountered the level of dedication and commitment in resolving issues as we experienced when dealing with our Ward councillor, Sarah Wissler.

Our electricity supply from the City Powerbox to our meter box kept tripping and interrupting the power supply which resulted in us not having electricity for about two days in the latter part of April 2019.

We logged numerous calls with City Power who then sent about three teams out to isolate what the fault was, but with little success. Each time the call would be bounced from the City Power contractor to the City Power teams with none being keen on finalising a permanent solution to prevent the recurrence of the fault.

We became frustrated with the lack of commitment from City Power and therefore approached the Honorable Clr Sarah Wissler for assistance. Within a few hours, the councillor managed to arrange with City Power a temporary connection. The temporary solution resulted in a cable being placed over our neighbour’s garden into our garden and finally to the meter box – not an ideal situation but it was only intended to be there for a few days. We were fortunate to have had electricity via this work around.

Even though we were given the assurance it was safe, we were very concerned about the safety of the children in our neighbourhood with the cable being above ground, a concern shared by the councilor. Since April 2019, we continued to push for a more permanent solution – and it was a struggle. Through the drive and persistence of Clr Wissler, we finally had the team from City Power out again and the fault was detected and permanently resolved.

Clr Wissler is a true example of a leader with a heart of a servant.
