Thank you for public awareness on Male Sexual Abuse and Rape

"The positive exposure you gave to our VSU means a lot in getting the word out to the local community of our unit’s existence and informing them that the VSU renders an important service free of charge."

The Victim Support Unit (VSU) wishes to express its gratitude to Caxton South newspapers (Alberton RECORD, Comaro CHRONICLE and Southern COURIER) for your excellent coverage of the seminars and public awareness presentation we hosted on the topic of Male Sexual Abuse and Rape.

The positive exposure you gave to our VSU means a lot in getting the word out to the local community of our unit’s existence and informing them that the VSU renders an important service free of charge.

Furthermore, because this issue is mostly not disclosed for fear of shame and the stigma attached thereto, it is mostly not recognised as a very real threat. It is therefore so important that the community be educated.

We are extremely grateful for the professionalism with which your news team handled this sensitive issue.
