SOJO and Rotary would like to thank all 135 guests who braved the freezing cold front to attend the Charity Race Day on Saturday, May 13. We thank you and appreciate your generous contribution towards this event, where we are able to donate a third of the profits to charities, namely UCPA (United Cerebral Palsy Association) and Hamlet.
A special thank you to MPR Hiring for purchasing one of the naming rights for a race valued at R8 000. The lucky draw prizes for the guests made the day fun and exciting and the raffle for a goody-filled wheelbarrow and the raffle for a two-night stay at Gold Reef City, as well as the auction of the Bowmore Scotch Whisky, all contributed funds for the charities involved. There were prizes for the best dressed lady and man who sparkled in the gold theme.
We thank all our awesome sponsors. Phumelela Gaming and Leisure sponsored the venue, valued at R17 500, Gold Reef City Casino sponsored 15 prizes to the total value of R8 310, Sinzinani Spa sponsored four spa vouchers to the total value of R1 500 and Johannesburg Expo Centre sponsored wine towards the event (which went into the wheelbarrow). Thanks also to Highway Tyres who sponsored four wheel-alignment and balancing vouchers to the total value of R1 000. Rotary sponsored bottles of wine and all the items for the wheelbarrow hamper valued at R3 000.
To Dennii Dorning from Exclusive Hampers, who assembled the wheelbarrow hamper to look attractive, thank you, and to Robot Paint and Hardware, who sponsored the wheelbarrow valued at R900. Bootleggers Cellars Group sponsored the table wine valued at R1 000, Kewl Brews sponsored craft beer to the total value of R1 440, Ko von Lint, assisted by Alex, organised the sound equipment and MC Victor Randall generously gave of his personal time. The total value of sponsorships was R53 650. Huge thanks to you all!
