The truth hurts

I am an ex mondeor high pupil having done my matric thirty years ago in 1984.

In our day we egged, flour bombed and water bombed on our last day of school, well really that was our intention but quite honestly very little happened due to strict control by staff.

Now thirty years later some delightful persons decide kicking chickens around. Is this the way to celebrate completion of high school, perhaps they need a lesson in acceptable behaviour, oh sorry can’t do that it’s abuse, or sorry can’t tell them they have blackened the school name, that’s racist, sorry can’t correct them, well last I heard this constitutes cruelty to animals and as such I believe they should be charged.

In fact this type of behaviour typifies ignorance, belligerence and lack of respect for the value of animal rights, right to attend school, right to be educated and rights of others, this was a shameful act that has no reasonable excuse.

Therefore the only excuse these young thugs could come up with is racism, quite simply if I was one of their parents I would hide my head in shame, but then again perhaps their actions are a reflection of the way they were raised.

I remember well a Mondeor pupil being had up for animal cruelty in my years at school, his entire family bore the shame and his brother a fellow 1984 matric was horrified at his actions as we’re his entire family.

I personally feel Mrs Nicolaou had every right to say they had blackened the school name as this is exactly what they did.
