Trees choppers arrested

Due to the alertness of a resident in Ward 125 and with cooperation from JMPD and SAPS, we were able to successfully arrest and charge culprits that trespassed on private properties in the Eagles Nest area, and chopped trees for re-selling as firewood to residents in Orange Farm.

Any person or entity that wants to deal in cutting trees for fire wood has to obtain a permit from either the Provincial or Local authorities and that of the owners of the properties.

We wish to express our appreciation to all concerned and especially to our law enforcement agencies SAPS and JMPD for their speedy assistance in nailing these culprits in the act.
