Setting a goal is not enough if you seriously want to change your life and achieve success, you need a system.

As a speaker, NeuroEngineer, and life coach, I always tell my audiences and coaches that you must never consider a goal seriously unless you have a system around it.

For me to reach the level of success that I have, I employed the system that has ensured the results for me.

Here is a five-step framework I use to set the system required to achieve any goal:

· Step 1: Set the goal. This helps you get clarity on where you are going. A goal helps you get through the fog by giving you direction. Everything in life demands your energy and attention which are your limited resources and setting a goal helps you focus them accordingly.

· Step 2: Form a strategy. This is where you need to check on what has worked for you in the past as well as what has worked well for others. You don’t want to reinvent the wheel. Is there anyone with a similar goal who has succeeded despite the odds, what did they do differently?

· Step 3: Hire a coach. A coach is someone that will help you see what you can’t see. This is a person who has a wealth of experience and trained eyes to help you see what you are blinded to.

· Step 4: Create a daily or weekly system. This is where the rubber hits the road. These are the actions you must take daily and weekly to move forward toward this goal. Wanting the goal without a system mostly leads to despair and frustration.

· Step 5: Commit to action. Your plan is meaningless unless you do something consistently.
