You are meant to be different

When you refuse to conform to the standards and expectations of a society, you are labelled as weird.

“I used to think that anyone doing anything weird was weird. I suddenly realised that anyone doing anything weird wasn’t weird at all and it was the people saying they were weird that were weird.” Paul McCartney of the Beatles fame.

We are born into a world where sameness is promoted at the expense of uniqueness. When you are still a baby, it’s okay to be taught the language everyone around you uses so as to learn the ways to live.

Our society measures a person’s success based on their description of success, which is mostly about conformity.

When you refuse to conform to the standards and expectations of a society, you are labelled as weird. This means whatever you do outside of what is expected of you by a society, you are seen as someone who is out of his/her mind.

When you want to be content with yourself and your life, history has shown you have to do something that feels good to your spirit. You have different abilities and dreams than other people.

When you look at history, great men and women of substance were seen as weird too. What made them look weird was that they were true to themselves.

Your dreams are unique to your abilities, and they need you to be different from the masses. Your dreams need you to fight a different fight, which society calls weird.

People who call you weird are conformists to the standard that suppresses their abilities and dreams.

To be the person you were meant to require stubbornness, which is the most difficult thing, hence, many don’t do it.

Whenever people tell you you are weird, don’t be put off by that, they are the ones who are weird.
