The Bag Lady

At my son and daughter-in law’s wedding, thankfully I was ‘in the moment’ for most of the time and I’ll have memories to last forever.

In the moment! Do you live in the moment? I have to admit I don’t always and often wish I did but then I remember things from the past or look to the future to what may happen, and I have missed that ‘in the moment’ presence.

Last weekend my son was married and we had family over from England. How quickly a day flies when you are all together celebrating such a beautiful occasion. Thankfully I was ‘in the moment’ for most of the time and I’ll have memories to last forever. The weather was lovely and two days later we were in the throes of winter! I’d told my family to only bring summery clothing, thankfully they ignored me and did bring some warmer clothing too! It’s at times such as this I realise how far away I am from them all and of course, the goodbyes are awful. Here’s to our next family gathering, wherever it may be!

Father’s Day

Next on the calendar will be Father’s Day and I see shops are already beginning to stock manly gifts. A friend of mine had a great idea, instead of celebrating Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, why not Family Day when the family could come together. This would make far more sense and for those who have lost parents, it wouldn’t seem quite so sad for them on the actual day.

I doubt it will ever happen though, too many businesses would lose money. So next week I’ll give you some great gift ideas anyway.

That’s it for this week. Shop till you drop!
