The Bag Lady

A busy week, checking out the shops for Christmas goodies and trying a recipe from The Recipe Studio, which was amazing!

Eight weeks to Christmas…and counting! There’s quite a lot more Christmas décor in the shops, as well as some gorgeous gifts. If you haven’t already done so, make a list of gift ideas for family and friends who you need to buy for, as well as grocery items you can buy in advance. It really will save you time and money as you won’t be running around doing last minute shopping, when you’ll just want to get it all finished and won’t consider the cost! You can also get gift wrap and gift tags now too, as well as sticky tape and ribbons.

A cooking experience you’ll never forget

A few weeks ago I came upon a new concept, The Recipe Studio, and asked for some information about the business. I tried out one of the recipes, coconut and lemon grass chicken, which was absolutely delicious.

Karla Blanc, owner of The Recipe Studio, said: “There is no doubt that cooking can be boring and stressful, especially if we have to do it every day after a long day at work.

“Just imagine how awesome it would be to cook without any of these frustrations or inconveniences – super delicious, tried and tested flop proof recipes at the touch of a button delivered to your home with all the fresh ingredients, pre-measured, prepped, separately packaged, ready to be cooked by you – from the packet to the pot to the table – as simple and easy as that.

“No shopping, no preparation, no wasted food, no stress! We take care of absolutely everything for you. All you have to do is enjoy the experience of cooking a wonderful meal and sharing it with the people you love.

“We have the perfect meal for every occasion, whether for a special family gathering, informal get-together or a braai – our Special Menu has something for everyone. Our Dinner Menu consists of three easy weekday dinners for either two or four people. The meals are updated every week and deliveries are done on Tuesdays.

“All the ingredients are delivered in a Meal Kit separately packaged and labelled for easy use with the printed recipe. All you will need to cook the meal is oil and small quantities of standard pantry items such as salt and pepper. The ingredients will last for up to three days in the fridge and our packaging is, as far as possible, recyclable and 100 per cent biodegradable and compostable. Our love and passion for cooking is the foundation of our business and the main ingredient in all our recipes – we trust that the essence of this love will lead to the creation of wonderful meals and beautiful moments.”

I can honestly say it was a great cooking experience. All I had to do was open the carrier bag and all the ingredients were separately packaged inside ready to be cooked. The recipe was easy to follow and it was kind of exciting, finding everything I needed in the bag, without the hassle of shopping for every little ingredient.
