Thankfully the sun was still shining though, so no complaints really. Still, I’ll be happier when the hot weather returns.
Dine at Pinch of Thyme
Last week I popped into Pinch of Thyme which is in Tulip Garden Centre, Rifle range Road, Haddon. Clinton Basel and Kleon Papadakis took over the coffee shop in August and have really made it their own.
The coffee shop/ restaurant has been revamped and boasts a Mediterranean look and feel with the décor in mainly blue and white, with a touch of red and green. What I loved was the outside area has been covered and the children’s area extended to accommodate a kiddies bike track, huge sand pit and play area, all covered to keep the kiddies safe from the strong sun.
I enjoyed an Illy coffee with a home baked biscuit and then decided on a Club Med on Rye. Cream cheese, mozzarella, Danish feta, avocado, bacon, tomatoes, cucumber and olives, dressed with their own Tahini sauce, made from chick peas, olive oil and sesame paste, it was absolutely delicious.
They serve breakfasts and lunches, with some “special” Mediterranean choices, including Lebanese pies, stuffed olive flatbreads and tramezzinis. They also have banting and vegan options. To finish you have to try one of their Freaky Shakes! Chocolate topped with Oreo biscuits and chocolate cake; lime with peppermint crisp tart; strawberry topped with strawberry cheesecake and vanilla finished off with a milk tart topping. Quite literally to die for!
The menu is very affordable and the premises licensed. It’s the ideal place to meet up with friends or family and little ones will be watched in the play area while you relax. Sport lovers are also catered for with two TV’s. It’s extremely affordable and the cherry on the top, so to speak, come and enjoy breakfast or lunch and kiddies eat for free from the kiddies menu. No, I’m not joking!
They cater for kiddies’ parties, kitchen teas and baby showers, providing various options to suit all pockets and tastes. Alternatively you are welcome to supply your own kiddies’ packs and birthday cakes. Themed parties are also offered.
