The halls of Grace Trinity School for Girls buzzed with excitement as 21 enthusiastic learners from grades five to seven gathered to showcase their talents at the World Scholar’s Cup.
This annual event, known for its rigorous academic challenges and spirited competition, provided a platform for scholars to engage in different disciplines.
Participants immersed themselves in dynamic activities, including debating, collaborative writing, the Scholars Challenge, and the Scholars Bowl.
The curriculum was as diverse as it was enriching, covering arts and music, social sciences, history, literature and media, and science and technology.
The teams from Robertsham Primary School clinched spots among the top three overall teams. Their performance earned them first place in several categories: team debate, team writing, team challenge, and team bowl.
Saaliha Kajee was among the best individuals. She emerged as the top junior learner and excelled as the top Cria scholar. She secured first place in the special area category and was recognised as the highest scorer from Robertsham Primary.
Other notable achievements included:
• Busisiwe Zulu received the Jac Khor Award for her outstanding performance as the junior challenge winner and took first place in social science.
• Shika Manthata triumphed in the arts and music category with a first-place finish.
• Kholofelo Senong excelled in history, earning first place.
• Mohau Zondo dominated the sciences and technology category with a top score.
• Ava Rayners showcased her writing prowess by securing first place in collaborative writing.
The World Scholar’s Cup highlights academic excellence and fosters teamwork and critical thinking among young minds.
