The centre is for survivors of domestic violence and child abuse and offers essential resources, including counselling and legal assistance.

Restonic was contacted by City of Johannesburg ward Clr Sarah Wissler, herself a survivor of gender-based violence (GBV).

“As a survivor of domestic violence and child abuse, I know first-hand the importance of having a safe space and a supportive community during times of crisis,” Sarah said.

“Supporting this initiative as a councillor for the City of Johannesburg allows me to give back to a deeply personal cause. It is not just about helping those in immediate need, but also about raising awareness and breaking the cycle of abuse in our community,” she continued.

Sarah expressed her gratitude to Restonic for donating beds and pillows, noting that this will enhance the comfort and safety of the survivors staying at the shelter.

“Quality sleep is crucial for physical and mental recovery, and by providing mattresses and bedding, Restonic is tangibly contributing to healing,” Sarah said.
