Calvary College makes generous donations

The parents and school joined forces to make a difference.

The parents of the learners at Calvary Christian College recently donated over 600 cans of food to the school to distribute to two projects.

The one project is the Men’s Ministry of Calvary Christian Church which works with about 20 men who collect paper, cardboard and plastic from the rubbish bins and have taken refuge behind the Booysens Magistrate’s Court.

Every Saturday these men are fed a simple meal and the gospel is shared with them. “These men were so encouraged by the food parcel that they received,” highlighted a representative from the school.

Principal Willem Barkhuizen, pastor Josef Bitschnau of Family Care Ministries and pastor Sandile Zwane of Calvary Christian Church.

The second project that the school donated to was Family Care Ministries which served 185 718 meals to the poor during 2023, covering various stations in Orange Farm, Eldorado Park, Evaton West, Noordgesig and Brixton.

Calvary Christian College and Calvary Christian Church have had a long-standing relationship with Pastor Josef Bitschnau who heads up Family Care Ministries. “He was most appreciative of the donation,” added the school representative.

The efforts of the parents, learners and school have brought warmth and nourishment to those in need, showcasing the strength of community spirit. Calvary College is thankful to everyone who supported their initiative.
