Law enforcers build relations with locals during Coffee with a Cop

Coffee with a Cop, a session aimed at creating positive engagements between law enforcement and locals in a relaxed manner, was held at Mall of the South over the weekend.

The men and women in blue, together with different entities, came together to engage with locals and consumers during an awareness campaign on August 17.

Mondeor SAPS reached out to scores of people during the Coffee with a Cop initiative at Mall of the South over the weekend.

The community was served with coffee, tea and biscuits and 300 people were reached and 600 informative pamphlets were distributed.

Mondeor SAPS interacted with the community and introduced the MySAPS app.

Role players of the day included Mondeor SAPS officers and management, junior police commissioners, Devine Intervention Structure, wardens, CPF, ADT Johannesburg South, Rawson Properties Bassonia, Mall of the South and Clr Tyrell Meyers.

Special thanks to donors which included the CPF, Golden Fry, Pick n Pay Mulbarton, Mugg & Bean Mall of the South, ADT JHB South, Rawson Properties Bassonia, The Butterfly Foundation and Wimpy Mall of the South.

Holly Nemathithi of Mall of the South said the Coffee with a Cop was part of a bigger initiative.

“It’s part of our #Holler campaign and we will have the main event on September 8 at the mall. This campaign was created in 2021 and is part of an awareness education campaign against GBV and is something the mall has hosted annually since. So this year this campaign is focusing on human trafficking, and we’ll be supporting Home of Hope, a safe haven for children of human trafficking,” she said.


The community was served coffee, tea and biscuits.
