5FM conducts Five School Takeover annually to give learners a live experience within their schools.

According to Hamman, host of 5FM’s 5 Breakfast Show, Five-School Takeover has become a big calendar event, with many schools reaching out to them and sharing the vibe.

“If it were up to me, we’d do even more cool things in these schools. I remember being in high school and the local community radio station visited our school during one of our assemblies. It was the coolest day ever!

“To be able to do that for young South Africans today, with South Africa’s favourite national youth radio station, does a full-circle dream come true. These are the people who tune into 5FM every morning on their way to school, and now we get the opportunity to hang out live in person.”

The takeover saw Trinityhouse Primary School learners, Sakinah Abdulraheem, Anesh Naidoo, Amar Mistry, and Diyaan Lakha take a maths quiz from 5FM and they didn’t disappoint.

5FM has a lot of cool things happening at schools all over South Africa. For more information, you can check them on all their social media pages.

“If you want 5FM to come to your school, invite us and we’ll take it from there,” said Hamman.
