Trinityhouse Glenvista motivates learners

The school’s mission is to teach value-based education and provide an exceptional, balanced education.

In recognition of their exceptional work and accomplishment in mathematics, Trinityhouse Glenvista gave 25 students ADvLEARN Leaderboard Certificates.

The learners were from grades eight to 12 and each grade had its top five.

Patsy Muller Fourie, a teacher at Trinityhouse Glenvista said: “It’s simply a way of encouraging learners to do work on the Advlearn platform. The more maths you do, the more points you accumulate. We decided to award certificates to students who have the most points in each grade as encouragement for others to also practice more maths.”

All the learners who got the first position for each grade also received a tuckshop voucher from Mr Linda Linda, executive head at the school.

The programme was presented to learners and parents by the school in August of last year to assist in promptly finding any gaps in students’ comprehension of certain homework concepts.

For students in grades 7 to 12, ADvTECH’s digital teaching platform, powered by ADvLEARN, offers support in the areas of mathematics, mathematical literacy, and physical sciences.

“The programme helps teachers refocus their class time teaching on concepts students are not grasping. Teachers can easily identify students requiring additional assistance, utilising the personalised digital learning pathways on the platform to build their knowledge and success,” said Fourie.

According to Fourie, learners are given all the resources they need by ADvLEARN to take charge of their education and work independently. By utilising artificial intelligence and adaptive learning, students can practice concepts they are struggling with through pathways generated on the platform that are customised to their individual needs and help them succeed academically.

He further added that teachers continually monitor student performance via academic data gathered on the teacher dashboard.

What’s more exciting about the app is that learners can use the platform in class and at home.

The learners who managed to get in the top five are:

Grade Eight: Davina Dihewou, Tintswalo Mathebual, Zakereye Anito, Tinyiko Mathebula and Wankaraba Malepe
Grade 9: Ana Trindade Reis Leal, Vhuhwavho Ramagwedzha, Kaden Timm and Kayleb Ballakistein.
Grade 10: Liangxi He, Ashamo Esiyas, Jacky Liu, Raina Kellan, and Aliyah Munshi.
Grade11: Ronewa Nthangeni, Malwandla Mthombeni, Kamohelo Ntseki, Dhiya Parshotam and Aria Bensingh.
