Pam Golding aid St Mary’s Home for Mandela Day

Pam Golding went to a Rosettenville children’s home for Mandela Day.

Pam Golding hosted a Mandela Day event at the St Mary’s Children’s Home, in Rosettenville on July 18.

The Jar of Hope initiative is centred on donating jars of food including rice, peas and lentils. One jar can feed four people.

The children were also treated to pizza and cool drinks while a mural was painted onto an old storage container for children to place their hand prints on, as a fun and commemorative gesture.

Sonja Harmse, the CEO of St Mary’s explained why the event was helpful to the home.

“The kids need people from outside the home to be involved and make them feel loved and every little bit helps us take care of each child so they can have happy lives,” Sonja said.

Business manager of Johannesburg south for Pam Golding, Chareen Mota spoke about the importance of social responsibility and helping out St Mary’s more regularly.

“St Mary’s needs our assistance, so even after today we will be helping them out with what we can. As a property group we must do our bit to help homes like this because we have the resources,” Chareen said.

“The Jar of Hope is about providing good food for the kids that will feed them over some time. We know the home doesn’t receive enough funds so we have to try and help,” she continued.
