The Sun Valley Golf and Wedding Venue in Eikenhof saw the official launch of the Smart Golf Parent-Child Team Classic.
Families braced the early morning cold and came in droves from as far as Orange Farm to support their teams.
Fifty players attended, including former Bafana Bafana player and celebrity Marks Maponyane, Dr Thandiwe Nhlapo, senior PGA member Norman Maraj and businessmen Lesedi Sennelo and Prof Mathenjwa.
The overall win went to Luigi and Shriya Ramasamy, followed by Nomsa Nkomonde and Rethabile Mphela in second, with third going to Mapula Ramokgopa and Tiyiseleni Chauke.
Ifeanyi Nzeakor took first place in the U10 kiddies’ section, with Serafim Leite as the runner-up.
The U18 prize went to Shriya Ramasamy, with Rethabile Mphela as the runner-up.
The top performer (ladies’ section) went to Nomsa Nkomonde.
The Smart Golf co-founder and chairperson, Jerry Dikgale, closed the event and thanked all their sponsors, volunteers and supporters.
