AACL-JHB celebrates National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day with an open day

AACL-JHB’s successful open day showcased animal welfare initiatives, the charity shop and pet adoptions.

The Animal Anti-Cruelty League Johannesburg (AACL-JHB) is thrilled to announce the success of its recent open day, which celebrated animal welfare, highlighted its charity shop, and facilitated many pet adoptions.

The May 11 event at their premises in Regents Park welcomed community members to participate in a day of compassion and support for needy animals.

Marketing manager Carren Nickloes said, “In addition to shopping, attendees had the opportunity to learn more about our various initiatives and their critical role in creating a safer and more compassionate community for all animals. From educational programmes to veterinary care, our organisation is dedicated to positively impacting the lives of animals and those who love them.”

One of the day’s highlights was the newly renovated pet adoption centre, where several animals found loving forever homes. From playful puppies and affectionate kittens to mature companions, there was a perfect match for every family.

By adopting a pet, attendees gained a new family member and helped the organisation in its mission to reduce pet homelessness and promote responsible pet ownership.
