Door of Hope appeals to community for solar panel support

Door of Hope Children's Mission is appealing for donations to help fund the purchase and installation of solar panels. Your contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in ensuring the baby saver box remains operational during power outage.

Door of Hope Children’s Mission in Berea has been a beacon of hope for abandoned babies since 1999.

Founded by Pastor Cheryl Allen, the organisation has saved thousands of lives by providing a safe haven for babies who would otherwise be at risk on the streets of Johannesburg.

However, the mission faces a significant challenge: power outages.

Berea, where the baby saver box is located, has been experiencing numerous power outages, some lasting up to 10 days.

These outages pose a threat to the operation of the baby saver box, which relies on electricity to function. To address this issue, the Door of Hope Children’s Mission is seeking support from the community to install solar panels and ensure the continuity of their life-saving efforts.

Solar panels are an ideal solution to the power outage problem. They are environmentally friendly, cost-effective in the long run, and can provide a reliable source of energy even during power outages. However, the initial cost of installing solar panels can be high. This is where the community comes in.
