Elderly treated to a day of medical wellness

The elderly were cared for by many helping hands, sponsors and medical practitioners

It was a heart-warming day at the Annie Burger Retirement Village where more than 180 elderly residents received medical attention.

On October 21, the seniors were treated to a medical wellness clinic. The day began with seniors sharing a light breakfast in the Friendship Garden, sponsored by senior caregiver Christine Crossley from Meals on Wheels.

In collaboration with Care Network International, CEO Joseph Periah and MD Jeniffer Samson brought in a team of medical practitioners to give free primary healthcare services to the residents. Their consultations included sugar and blood pressure testing, HIV testing, wound care, eye tests with the provision of spectacles, dental care and others with the dispensing of medication.

The seniors were given an opportunity to speak to a biblical counsellor for spiritual upliftment and prayer. After consultations, the residents were served a scrumptious meal sponsored by Baboo’s Crew.

The medical wellness clinic was a huge success, made possible by the invaluable support of various organisations.

The organisers would like to express their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the enormous help received and extend a thank you to the following people and organisations:
