Great fun at a great CANSA cause at The Glen

Children together with their parents joined in the fun at the CANSA Shavathon.

Marist Brothers Linmeyer, in partnership with the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA), hosted the annual Shavathon fundraising event at The Glen Shopping Centre on February 25.

Marketing assistant of the school, Precious Staat, said it was a successful event as shoppers along with their families and friends shaved, colour sprayed and cut their hair in support of cancer survivors.

Brody Winfield sprayed his hair blue for cancer.

“Adults contributed R50 for either a haircut, having their hair sprayed or shaved while children under 12 contributed R25. Some shoppers also made monetary donations and two shoppers donated 25cm of their hair towards cancer patients. What a special event it was, filled with generosity.

“All funds raised will go towards providing CANSA’s education and screening initiatives, as well as care and support services to cancer patients and loved ones.
