Court convicts suspect for possessing stolen property

The suspect arrested for possession of stolen property in Aeroton was convicted.

The court sentenced a suspect to 18 months of direct imprisonment and also declared him unfit to possess a firearm on June 29.

This comes after a security officer at the Aeroton premises saw an unknown person inside the premises, removing items off a vehicle at about 15:35 on June 1.

The security informed the Booysens SAPS and upon investigating, the person was found and arrested.

A docket was opened and the person was arrested for possession of suspected stolen property.

The docket was given to Sergeant Thivhulawi Nyadzani to complete the investigation. After obtaining all the outstanding information required, the docket was taken to court.

The Booysens SAPS station commander, Brigadier Jones, thanked Nyadzani for his dedication in obtaining a conviction and the member who helped to arrest the suspect.
