Be on a lookout for three roaming suspects, urges Moffat View SAPS

According to Captain Lorraine van Emmerik, a spokesperson for Booysens, the suspects typically break in during the day.

The Moffat View Police Station urges the community to be on the lookout for three suspects roaming Johannesburg South.

“Moffat View SAPS is looking for these suspects because they are causing a problem and a case has been opened.”

One of the victims, whose house was broken into by the suspects, said on February 18 that he and his wife left the house around 14:15 to go to Garden City Hospital to see his sister-in-law. He received a call from his neighbour around 15:30 stating that he had left his middle gate open.

“The neighbour thought my garden workers were present. I informed him that the middle gate was never used, only the motor operating gate. He claimed to have seen two men running out of the yard. I then called my son, who was nearby,” said the victim.

“I told him to hurry over to the house to see what was going on. My son reported that the middle gate lock was broken and the gate was wide open.

A sharp object was used to damage the lock and crack the shatterproof glass on the front door, which is made of aluminium and glass. The cost of repairing the damage is R4 237.

“It happened in broad daylight, and I just want everyone to know about these thieves. We live in the first extension of The Hill.”
