A man in his 20s was shot and killed in an armed robbery on Wemmeeshoek Road, Oakdene this Tuesday afternoon.
According to Russel Meiring ER24 spokesperson, paramedics were called to the scene and immediately responded, arriving at 14h01 to find the local authorities already in attendance.
“On closer inspection, medics found a man in his 20s lying on the pavement. Medics quickly assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous gunshot wounds to his head and chest and showed no signs of life,” said Meiring.
“Unfortunately, nothing could be done for him, and he was declared dead.”
Meiring said the exact details surrounding this incident are unknown, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
