Lerena has eye on WBC world title

Bassonia boxing legend Brian Mitchell was the man in charge on November 21 of the pre-fight press conference for the highly anticipated WBC Interim Bridgerweight world title fight.

The battle will be on between South Africa’s Kevin ‘Two Guns’ Lerena and Senad ‘The Lion’ Gashi of Germany.

Gashi and Lerena headline the Double Down@The Palace Box and Dine Tournament taking place at the Palace of Dreams’ Centre Court on November 25.

If Lerena wins the fight he will become only the third South African in history to win a WBC world title. The other two WBC belt winners were the great Thulani ‘Sugar Boy’ Malinga and Dingaan ‘The Rose of Soweto’ Thobela.
