Miss Joburg Region’s first pageant proves to be a success
The purpose of the show was to connect everyone who is interested in fighting gender-based violence and to celebrate the totality of a woman's beauty.
Joburg Beauty Pageant hosted a regional pageant show at the Edge Shopping Centre in Turffontein on November 26.
The contestants were competing for the title of Miss Joburg Region F, which was won by Ezile Zililo. Other titles were contested, including Miss Joburg Region A, which was won by Sharon Khumalo.
Gidion Mfincane said the purpose of the show was to connect everyone who is interested in fighting GBV and to celebrate the totality of a woman’s beauty.
“Our mission was to inspire, motivate, and lift young women to realise they are strong, independent, capable young ladies who can achieve anything they set their minds to. We choose to develop potential and never put anyone down.
“The pageant provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for women to shine as leaders, but it is soon to be expanded to include men as well. Our pageant system focuses on self-awareness, leadership presence, and relationship building for impact, allowing aspiring female leaders to become more self-aware, connect more authentically with others, and successfully manage relationships across a broad spectrum,” said Mfincane.
Mfincane highlighted that the pageant is ideal for women seeking self-development, professional advancement, and personal fulfilment.
“We teach our models to master seven aspects of their lives through long-term practices such as journaling, mindfulness, networking, and conscious reflection. Our seven areas of reflection are an organisation of time, physical structure, career, finances, feelings, relationships and spirituality,” said Mfincane.
