The Giant will also include a white collar fight between a biker and a boxer, as well as a celebrity fight.

The ever-popular Southern Giant turns 21 and invites all former supporters and sponsors to the next level at Southern Surbubs Boxing Club on November 20.

This year’s event is Master Box and White Collar Boxing, which is for boxing enthusiasts who want to give it a try at the boxing without the pressure of a win or loss.

Master Box is the main attraction and a new entity to enter the boxing fray in South Africa, with the winner determined by a regulated panel of judges and referees. During Covid-19 times, Anton Gilmore and Russell van der Merwe launched this initiative.

Anton handed over the reins to the capable Stephen Castle, who is now chairperson of the organisation. The Giant will be the first to expose post-35-year-old fighters who want another shot at SA and world titles.

Raeesah Essop.

The Heavyweight Eliminator will be between Johnny Anthony and Wade Henderson and promises to be a serious, classy and aggressive fight. Raeesah Essop will compete against Heike Herseleman on the main undercard. Yonex Hall, Anton Gilmore, and Luvuyo Ngono are also expected to compete for the Southern Giant title.

If you want to participate in the fight, please contact Anton at boxofficegym@gmail.com.

The Giant will also include a white-collar fight between a biker and a boxer, as well as a celebrity fight. Bikers from various groups and chapters will raise funds for the Southern Suburbs Boxing Club, which will build an innovation hub for youth that will teach life, business and artisan skills.

Fight with Insight at Suburbs has a team of young people who will be mentored through this programme for them to get employed.
