Unidentified police woman arrested for assaulting Brackendowns police officer

The incident comes after the suspect was found driving recklessly on Palala Street.

A middle-aged woman has been arrested by Brackendowns SAPS sergeant Riaan Venter and Mr Kieran Snowball from Brackendowns Community Police Forum (CPF).

The incident took place on Sunday, November 6 at around 4:00 am.

According to Warrant Officer Gerhard Cornelius, Brackendowns SAPS spokesperson, the female suspect was arrested for intimidation, crimen Injuria, assault on a police officer and reckless and negligent driving on Palala Street in Brackendowns.

It was later discovered that the suspect is an alleged police officer.

“The female is an alleged SAPS member who holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and was not in possession of any identification or police appointment certificate,” said Cornelius.

Cornelius added that the suspect will soon appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court.
