It was a fun weekend learning about Portuguese roots, food, drinks, and dances with a South African twist at the Madeira Festival at Casa da Madeira, attended by both young and old.
Over the weekend, more than 30 local and international artists performed live shows, drawing people from far and wide. A variety of delicious food and drinks were available, including juicy shrimp, spicy chouriço, esperada and of course, pasteis de nata. There was lots of fun for the children as well.
It was a successful festival and we are looking forward to the next one.
