Two people died and 13 were injured on Wednesday morning when a taxi rolled off the R59 northbound towards Swartkoppies Road.
At 07:13, ER24 and other emergency services discovered the taxi cab on its side on the side of the road. A few metres away, many adults were spotted injured.
Communication officer of ER24 Russel Meiring said that when medics examined the victims, they discovered that a man and a woman had already passed away. . They were pronounced dead on the accident scene.
“Three men were found in critical condition, while 10 others had sustained minor to moderate injuries. The patients were treated, and the critical patients were provided with advanced life support,” said Meiring.
The surviving victims were taken to surrounding hospitals for more treatment.
Authorities were on the scene to conduct additional investigations.
