Beauty meets fashion to raise funds for hospice

In support of Stepping Stone Hospice and Care Services, Catstreet hosted a spectacular fashion show of extravagant elegance at the Meyersdal Eco Office Park on September 10.

This was the first Catstreet fashion show in support of Stepping Stone Hospice & Care Services.

It was a fashion spectacle with a difference as selected Mrs South Africa 2022 finalists and the reigning Mrs Universe Africa 2022, Mpho Mogotsi, wore stunning garments by prominent designers including Andre Croukamp, Catstreet with exclusive designer looks, Joseph Ribkoff, Philosophy and Werner Dey.

A fashion show with a purpose

“I live by this quote from Steve Goodier which says, ‘People think sometimes that an organisation such as the Hospice only needs money, of course, they do, but every little bit helps. Making people aware of the constant needs of the Hospice is my mission and passion’. It’s a cause close to my heart and I hope to get people to share my enthusiasm in keeping their doors open,” said Corlia Booysen, co-owner of Catstreet Boutique.

She is also a patron of the Stepping Stone Hospice and Care Services board. Along with co-owner Carmen van der Vaart they are proud to host this event as part of their Catstreet Cares initiative.

Catstreet is an exclusive Johannesburg-based women’s fashion boutique and hosts imported designer collections from around the globe. They offer wardrobe design that is unique to each of their shoppers.

They provide more than just world-renowned brands; they offer a luxurious shopping experience by giving each woman that all-important, personal attention on she deserves, so she walks out feeling and looking her best in designer styles from Catstreet.

It was truly remarkable how talent came together to make this show the success it was.

Jude Harpstar, an internationally renowned harpist, hypnotised the audience with her talents while Graham Beck and Steenberg Farm sponsored their magnificent bubbly for guests to enjoy.

Sven Crofton from The Forum assisted in transforming the venue into a fashion show that transcended the audience into a different world.

Guests participated in a silent auction of incredible items and experiences sponsored by Graham Beck Magnum, Hartenburg Wine Estate Magnum, Henley Air Simulator Experience and Sugarbird Gin in partnership with Tsepang Molisana. These auctions resulted in R10 200 raised for the Hospice.

After the show, guests had the opportunity to shop the runway looks.

A message from Stepping Stone Hospice & Care Services

From diagnosis to death, Stepping Stone provides high-quality and specialist palliative care to people with life-limiting conditions who do not respond to curative treatments.

Besides meeting physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and social needs, they also strive to ensure that families are supported during and after difficult times.

Tersia Burger, CEO of Stepping Stone Hospice & Care Services, said that words cannot express how meaningful this fundraiser was for her.

“It has been an honour to be involved in this and to have something beautiful come back to hospice as a result,” she said.

“My deepest gratitude goes to the organisers and especially to Corlia for always being available and going the extra mile.

“My mind is just blown by the fashion show’s extravagant elegance, which was attended by many familiar faces. Millions of patients’ families supported the fundraiser. All I can say is thank you.”

A heartfelt thank you

The organisers thanks Henley Air for a simulator experience, Wine Buyers Society for a Hartenberg Wine Magnum, Graham Beck and Steenberg Farm for a Graham Beck MCC Magnum, and Sugarbird Gin and Tsepang Molisana for the wonderful Sugarbird Gin Hamper.
