Joburg South singer starts spring with a bang

Another well-received song, more so by hip-hop/rap fans is Leavin’ U where she featured Vosloorus artist Ricky Tyler.

Rosettenville-based singer Vuyina has kicked off the spring season with a bang after releasing her first song of the year.

Released on September 9, the hit single is titled Uthando and featured Skhanda World artist Loki.

Vuyina explained how the song came about after presenting the lyrics and chords to Playground producer Glo TheBeatz.

“Uthando was a very organic song to make. I wrote it after coming up with the chord progression on the keyboard one night at home.

“I wrote the first verse and chorus and sent it to Glo. A few days later we got into the studio and built the beat around the song so that it complimented the melodies as well as what the lyrics were saying,” she explained.

The 23-year-old singer also opened up about the collaboration with Loki.

“When we were in studio making uThando I remember Glo mentioning that he’s been working with someone he thought would be perfect for the song. He played me some of Loki’s stuff and we all knew instantly that he would bring great energy to the song.”

Vuyina is still enjoying the success of her hit single Andisoze, which alone has gained just 100 000 streams across digital streaming platforms.

The song was part of an EP released in December 2021 titled The Break Between (TBB) and was boosted with a music video that was released in late February this year.

“The reception of Andisoze has been unbelievable,” the Playground Productions artist said.

Vuyina released her hit single, titled Uthando, which featured Skhanda World artist Loki, on September 9.

“The feedback we have received on both the song and the video has just been positive and it is great to see how much people appreciate the work and effort that we put into it.”

Another well-received song from the TBB project, more so by hip-hop/rap fans is Leavin’ U where she featured Vosloorus artist Ricky Tyler.

The singer is also reported to be part of a star-studded lineup of featured artists in KO’s Skhanda Republic 3. The list of features included other heavy hitters such as Young Stunna and Blxckie.

In addition to lending her talents to the work of some of South Africa’s biggest female superstars, including Pabi Cooper and Shekinah, Vuyina is still also expected to release another project this year.

“My team and I have been working hard to finish my new project and we have been collaborating with many different artists to bring something new and innovative to the music scene,” she concluded.
