Kindle Knight Movement (KKM), in partnership with Panda Pads, donated reusable pads to girl learners from La Rochelle Primary School on August 31.
The founder of KKM, Mahlatsi Moleya, said they wanted to spread awareness about their reusable pads initiative.
“Girls often face difficulties during menstruation, including access to hygiene products. A lack of products may lead to low school attendance.
So @kindle_knight_movement collaborated with @pandapads_sa to implement a menstrual care kit distribution and education intervention in the hope of increasing school attendance and comfort at school during menstruation.
“Upon receiving a care kit, many have expressed huge gratitude. They explained how they no longer have to choose between food and menstrual hygiene and they no longer have to cut up old clothes or use towels, newspaper or others alternatives,” he said.
Panda Pads has made it possible to support young women for about seven years.
“Through this partnership, we aim to uplift women in rural areas and informal settlements by creating a sustainable future for underprivileged women. “In doing so, we also take every action to care for our environment by reducing our global footprint and ensuring a greener tomorrow with reusable, 100% biodegradable sanitary pads. We strive in being creative and working hard to find more ways to help and impact the lives of women in Africa,” noted Mahlatsi.
