SAPS specialised units visit Eaglets House Pre-Primary School

This forms part of the SAPS outreach programme to schools.

The SAPS diving and K9 units, with the help of the Netsec Security group, visited Eaglets House Pre-Primary School and Aftercare in The Hill on August 18.

The demonstration started with two smoke grenades being used to create colourful smoke while the members explained the usage of the grenades to indicate the direction of the wind to a helicopter when it needs to come and land.

Warrant Officer Jaco Putter from the SAPS Diving Unit took the children through what to do when there is an emergency. He also showed the children some of the equipment that they use when diving.

The K9 Unit was next to show their skill and allow the children to pet Duke, the search and rescue dog.
